Users of Netscape Navigator
3 will need to go through a 2 minute root rollover process as
of July 27th, 1998 to avoid seeing a short warning message when
they connect to our Secure Server. This is true not only for
our sever, but any secure server you access who use's the Thawte
Digital Security Certificate. This warning will inform you that
the root certificate for the certificate issuer has expired.
You can choose to connect as normal, or to cancel viewing the
secure site.
This update procedure is outlined
at: http://www.thawte.com/certs/server/rollover.html
Every Navigator 3 user will
only need to do this once, and then their browser will work without
this warning notice until the year 2020. This rollover affects
only those users connecting to a Thawte certificate with Netscape
Navigator 3.x . It does not effect IE users or Verisign certificates
at this time.
After July 27th, 1998 those
users who have not gone through the quick rollover process will
see a dialog box stating that the root certificate that issued
this site cert has expired, and will give you the option to continue
or cancel. If you choose not to go through the "roll over"
process, The "continue" button will let you establish
a secure session as usual. However, The quick rollover process
eliminates these warnings till 2020.
Note: Even with the warning notice, at no time is
your personal information at risk. For your safety, All transactions
are processed on our secure sever.
